I began writing poetry in earnest three years ago as a diversion during long hours waiting for my mother to die. That tragedy has borne fruit others appear to enjoy. As an old English major, I guess it was a natural inclination. I’ve always enjoyed painting with words. I believe poetry can be valid without being obtuse.

Currently, I’m a psychiatric nurse working in Dallas, Texas. After eons of working in retail management, psychiatry balms my soul.
