I write to keep the voices out of my
head. Sometimes I will write five or six poems a day, sometimes I
won’t
write for weeks. I have scraps of Kleenex and donut boxes to
testify to the fact that the voices echo until I set them free.
I have attended many different
colleges in many different states and still haven’t settled on a major.
I just had a child, Devin, and he is
precious. My husband feels so-so about my writing, but my friend
Doni is the one who got me off my derriere and made me try to share
“the
gift” (as she calls it).
