From Shadowed Shorelines

From
Shadowed
Shorelines

Painted
Landscapes

You leave me breathless,
devoid of speech,
standing in the shadows
as the swallows bank
and swoon against the amber
reflections of eternity.

A game to them;
To touch
against the pastel sky
and fall in flock
to recesses
of the tattered shoreline.

As we fall
and fade to mist
on the breath
of a jealous god,
my hands touch the places
you have kissed.

Left breathless,
I stand with time,
a purple memory cast
from the slivered moon.

Know you now,
where the moon gleams
so shall I be, breathless
and waiting
forever.
