What Now?

I taught my daughter long ago
her dreams will not come true
if she can’t write them down in words
to keep them fresh in view

I told her “Read them every day,
believe in where you’ll be”
And Sondra took me at my word
I’d helped her find the key

She writes her thoughts for all to see
in words of warm detail
I’m proud of her, she has a gift
I doubt she’ll ever fail

But shame on you for thinking that
she writes of things unknown
She lives it all in dreams she has
then puts it in a poem.
