They say I don’t know
what true love is –
I’m too young, too
foolish, to feel such a
thing, but they misunderstand
the meaning of this so-called
“true love.” It’s depicted with
clichés like “earth-shattering,”
“soul-moving,” and other such
blather, but that’s not
right. I say love, true love, is
quiet, creeping up behind you
and taking over,
without notice or thought. Then one day,
you realize it’s there,
and you
smile.
