Had I known Happiness
   Until you made my soul sing?
Had I known Joy
   Until my pulse quickened with your arrival?
Had I known Jealousy
   Until another’s sly glance slid over you?
Had I known Pride
   Until my heart soared at your accomplishments?
Had I known Life
   Until there was you?
